Shimla, October 22, 2026:* Ten years have passed since the first reality show of Himachal Pradesh was launched. In 2016, Him TV Media created history by launching ‘Himachal’s Got Talent’, the first TV reality show of Himachal Pradesh. The show was telecast on Punjabi Hits and Zee Punjabi, taking Himachali talent to millions of households across North India.
Before 2016: The Reality of Himachal’s Entertainment Scene
Before 2016, Himachal’s entertainment was dominated only by stage shows. Dance Himachal Dance Stage Show, The Voice of Himachal Stage Show, Mela Stage Shows and other local stage shows were popular in different districts. They were good local platforms but were limited to physical stages in melas and local events, with no television telecast, no professional set and no national reach.
In 2016, Him TV Media changed this history forever. For the first time, Himachal got a complete TV reality format with state-wide auditions across 12 districts, professional reality show set with LED walls, sound and lighting, Bollywood and Pollywood judging panel, multi-camera setup, professional editing and background scoring, national telecast on Punjabi Hits and Zee Punjabi, and public voting and SMS voting system introduced for the first time in Himachal.

Special Space in HAS/IAS Books: The prestigious Jokta Academy’s HAS/IAS General Knowledge Book has given a special space to ‘Himachal’s Got Talent’ as the First Reality Show of Himachal Pradesh. This book is read by thousands of HAS and IAS aspirants across Himachal for Himachal GK. This academic recognition proves its historical authenticity and legacy.
Decade Celebration – From State to National: After ten years of a successful journey since 2016 and after establishing Himachal’s Got Talent as a legacy, Him TV Media is now launching its National Reality Show – ‘Himalaya’s Got Rock Talent’. What started as Himachal’s first reality show has now become a national movement.
In the upcoming edition, along with Pahadi Folk, Nati and Pahadi Language, National Folk forms are also being added to provide a bigger platform for traditional as well as national folk artists.
